Refer a school scheme terms & conditions

Smart Teacher’s refer a school scheme gives schools, academies, colleges, multi-academy trusts, other learning providers and Smart Teacher’s supply workers the opportunity to receive one free supply day or a £250 Amazon gift voucher for every education provider they refer once the referred provider has booked and paid for 10 full supply days with Smart Teachers or hired and paid the introduction fee for recruiting a permanent member of staff through our Search and Select Service. There are no restrictions on the number of referrals a school, academy, college, multi-academy trust, learning provider or supply worker can make.

Qualifying for a referral bonus

• be located within England
• have not used the services of Smart Teachers within the last 12 months (excluding trial days)
• not have been referred by another education provider. Only one referral can be made per school, academy, college, multi-academy trust or other learning provider and a reward may only be given once for this provider. If two education providers/Smart Teacher’s supply workers refer the same school, academy, college, multi-academy trust or other learning provider, Smart Teachers will identify who referred the education provider first, and
• book and pay for a minimum of ten full days’ supply through Smart Teachers or hires and pays the introduction fee for recruiting a permanent member of staff through our Search and Select Service and the member of staff has been in the role for 6 weeks. If the education provider referred is a multi-academy trust, the bonus will be paid for each individual academy within the trust that books and pays for 10 full supply days – not 10 full days’ supply across the whole of the trust.

The referring school, academy, college, multi-academy trust or other learning provider must:

• have used the services of Smart Teachers within the last 12 months, and
• obtain the permission of the school, academy, college, multi-academy trust or other learning provider they are referring to Smart Teachers before submitting their details.

OR
 

The referring Smart Teacher’s supply worker must:

• be registered and cleared to work with Smart Teachers, and
• obtain the permission of the school, academy, college, multi-academy trust or other learning provider they are referring to Smart Teachers before submitting their details.

Claiming and paying a referral bonus

• The referring school, academy, college, multi-academy trust, other learning provider or Smart Teacher’s supply worker must contact Smart Teachers to claim their bonus once the referred education provider has booked and paid for the required 10 full days’ supply or hired and paid the introduction fee for recruiting a permanent member of staff through our Search and Select Service and have been in the role for 6 weeks.
• The referral bonus must be claimed within six months of the qualifying period.
• Any referring education providers who are eligible for a refer a school bonus must confirm if they want to receive one day’s free supply or a £250 Amazon gift voucher. If the £250 Amazon gift voucher is selected, this will be awarded to the education provider – not the individual working within the organisation. We will require a signed letter from the Head Teacher on headed paper to confirm receipt of the gift voucher. No cash or alternative vouchers are available.
• Any referring Smart Teacher’s supply workers who are eligible for a refer a school bonus will have the bonus paid through their Smart Teachers salary, which will be subject to PAYE deductions. No cash or voucher alternatives are available to candidates registered with Smart Teachers.
• The Amazon gift voucher/card will be sent out recorded delivery. If the Amazon gift voucher/card is stolen, lost, lost in transit or destroyed, this is not the responsibility of Smart Teachers.

Additional terms and conditions

• This scheme applies to supply referrals made on and after Monday 24th February 2020 and permanent recruitment referrals made on and after 1 October 2020. Any referrals made before this date will be eligible for the scheme that was running at the time the referral was made.
• Smart Teachers reserves the right to terminate or amend this scheme at any time.
• Smart Teachers will determine the eligibility for this bonus in each case and our decision is final.
