We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Barking. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development, and contributing to a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.
About the role
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
- Working with small groups and individual students to provide targeted support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and social development.
- Contributing to classroom management, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Assisting with the preparation and organisation of learning resources and materials.
- Collaborating closely with other staff and professionals, such as SENCOs and educational psychologists, to provide tailored support for children with additional needs.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant - Barking you will:
- Have experience working with children in a primary school setting is desirable, but not essential
- Have a good understanding of child development and a genuine desire to help children succeed
- Have relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be an advantage
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Additional qualifications required in order to qualify for higher pay
- Enhanced DBS check will be required (or willingness to undergo one)
