Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a vibrant secondary school in Enfield, who is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support their diverse student body. As part of a multi-academy trust, they are committed to providing exceptional education and life-changing opportunities for their students.

About the role

Role Overview:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with special educational needs, both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENDCO, and the Lead SEMH Mentor to develop and implement individualized support plans.

  • Assist in the Student Support Centre and Reflection Room, promoting positive behavior and learning outcomes.

  • Contribute to a restorative approach to conflict resolution, understanding the impact of traumatic experiences on student behavior.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • A levels or Level 3 equivalent B+/Merit or Distinction in three subjects, a relevant University degree or Diploma, as any successful candidates will be supporting students in Years 7-11
  • GCSE or equivalent Level 4/5+ in English, Maths, Science and four more GCSE’s or equivalents

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
