Smart Teachers is pleased to be supporting a Multiacademy Trust located in the borough of Enfield, to appoint a full-time Safeguarding Support Officer to join there team as soon as possible. This is a permanent contract offering a salary of up to £30,000 per annum.

About the role

The School Safeguarding Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support safeguarding and child protection issues across the Trust’s schools.
  • Assist the Education Welfare Officer with school-related matters.
  • Work mainly with primary schools but also within the secondary school as required.
  • Provide specialist services to meet our obligations related to school attendance, particularly persistent absence.
  • Support all staff in handling safeguarding and child protection concerns.

About the school

The schools trust was set up in 2021. They are currently run 4 academies in North London educating over 2,000 pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Safeguarding Support Officer you will:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding legislation and guidance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Relevant professional qualification in safeguarding, such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or similar)

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • experience in a similar role
