Smart Teachers are working in partnership with one of the largest secondary schools in the country who are seeking to appoint a Head of English with a view to start from September 2025.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Head of English you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for the English Department, setting high expectations for teaching and learning
- Develop and implement innovative and engaging schemes of work that inspire a love of literature and language
- Promote enrichment opportunities, including extracurricular activities, competitions, and trips, to enhance students’ experiences
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in English or a related field
- A passion for English literature and language, with a desire to instil this enthusiasm in others
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Suitable experience in a leadership post
