The Head of Business and Economics will play a crucial leadership role in developing and implementing an innovative curriculum that fosters students' understanding of key business concepts and economic principles. This position involves overseeing the Business and Economics department.
About the role
Your primary responsibilities will include:

Curriculum Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking curriculum that aligns with national standards and best practices, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of our students. Encourage interdisciplinary approaches that connect business and economic concepts to real-world scenarios.

Student Engagement: Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and active participation. Implement innovative teaching strategies and utilize technology to enhance the learning experience and promote student engagement.

Assessment and Evaluation: Oversee the assessment processes within the department, ensuring that student progress is effectively monitored and reported. Use data-driven approaches to inform instruction and improve student outcomes

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Head of Business and Economics you will:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Education, Economics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification
- Proven experience teaching Business and Economics at the secondary level, with a track record of effective student engagement and achievement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, colleagues, and parents
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- a minimum of two years experience within a mainstream secondary school
