Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a mainstream 11 -18 secondary school based in the heart of Camden who are seeking to appoint a DT technician with a view to start as soon as possible.

About the role

They are seeking a dedicated and proactive Design & Technology (DT) / Textiles Technician to support our Art, Food, Design, and Technology Department. The successful candidate will provide technical and practical assistance, ensuring that equipment and materials are prepared and maintained to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of DT/Textiles Technician you will:

  • Prepare and set up materials and equipment for DT and Textiles lessons, ensuring all resources are ready for use
  • Maintain and service machinery and equipment, including regular checks to ensure safety and functionality
  • Assist teaching staff during practical lessons, providing technical support to students as required
  • Support the creation and maintenance of classroom displays and exhibitions
  • Relevant qualifications in Design & Technology and/or Textiles (e.g., BTEC, A-level, or equivalent)

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Suitable technician experience
