About the role
As an Children's Mental Health Assistant, you will provide vital support to children with complex needs, helping them access education and develop their independence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with medical, physical, and personal care needs as required.
- Assisting pupils in their learning, both on a one-to-one basis and in group settings.
- Monitoring and encouraging progress in pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Liaising with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care and learning.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for every child.
About the school
Smart Teachers is delighted to offer an opportunity for a caring Children's Mental Health Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN school. This primary maintained special school, located within the Local Authority of Barnet, supports pupils with a wide range of complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility challenges, and significant developmental delays.
